The Opportunity

The Registrar’s Office at Cornell Law School is seeking a Registrar’s Office Assistant who will help with a wide variety of complex administrative and technical tasks in support of student records management, course and enrollment management, and exam functions for the school. In this role, you will:

  • Help disseminate accurate information regarding courses, exams, and student records in accordance with university and school policies and procedures.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for the Law School Registrar’s Office.
  • Foster a culture of belonging and a psychologically healthy work environment by communicating across differences, being cooperative, collaborative, open, respectful and welcoming;

This is a full-time (39 hours/week, 1-year fixed term) endowed position that is fully on-site in Ithaca, NY. Work hours are 8am-4:30pm Monday through Thursday; 8am-4:00 pm on Fridays.


What We Need

We are looking for a service-oriented team member who is a self-starter, organized, prompt in their communication and responsiveness, can multi-task and has project management skills. Additionally, you will:

  • Hold an Associate’s degree and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
  • Demonstrate the aptitude to work successfully with highly confidential material under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting, handling multiple tasks with differing deadlines, and projects happening simultaneously.
  • Have exceptional attention to detail, written and oral communication skills, along with organizational, planning, time management, people skills, and a strong service orientation.
  • Demonstrate commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
  • Have experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and
    socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Handle high volumes of work during peak periods, occasionally work overtime, and resolve problems using sound judgment.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong database management aptitude.

If you possess these experiences and skills this may be the role for you! There are a few other qualifications that we would view as incredibly helpful in this role, to include:

  • Familiarity with university policies and procedures, and the role of the Registrar’s Office at both the university and Law School levels. Experience with PeopleSoft, 25Live, Exam4, and Canvas.
