SUMMARY To assist the principal by performing responsible clerical and technical work involving the preparation and maintenance of fiscal or related documents for the school. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Maintains a complete bookkeeping system for the schoolConducts routine bookkeeping tasks such as receiving, keeping receipts, depositing funds, reconciling checkbook and bank statements and accounting for all funds in accordance with school board policy, Virginia law, and federal lawProvides routine secretarial support for the principal and other staff membersCreates routine and other financial reports as requiredPrepares purchase orders and other documents for the procurement of materials and suppliesOrders and dispenses school suppliesGeneral accounting/bookkeeping and office computer skills with commonly used software programs required.
