Safety Technician
Duties:
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to promote a safe work environment
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Provide safety training and education to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and safe work practices
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and other safety-related activities
- Collaborate with management and employees to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives
- Prepare reports on safety performance, including trends, statistics, and recommendations for improvement
Experience:
- Trenching and Excavation Competent person is preferred
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively train employees on safety procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
