Safety Technician

Role and Responsibilities

• Responsible for development of business unit safety teams, audit programs and safety engagement opportunities
• Work directly with Safety/HR/Operations to update and maintain safety databases
• Maintain knowledge/expertise on existing/proposed changes in radiation safety regulations
• Will serve as the first point of contact for the safety program
• Responsible for partnering with the business units to develop safety strategy
• Works with shift safety team resource to ensure coverage of
• Work to develop safety leadership throughout the organization - will be the resource and not necessarily the "doer"
• Conducts work site surveys and daily facility inspections to ensure facility and procedural compliance with applicable regulations
• Responsible for the maintenance and updating of all required reports and records applicable to the training, safety, use and storage of hazardous waste materials and programs
• Conducts routine inspection of all waste storage areas to ensure compliance with storage requirements and regulations

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Highschool Diploma required
• Previous experience in Safety preferred
