SUMMARY: Baker Electric is looking for a high-level in-house construction contracts Risk Management Analyst who additionally manages and monitors all legal insurance matters including the review of insurance provisions in construction contracts and coordination with the Baker team. This role will be the main point of contact for all job specific insurance-related questions and issues that may arise. This position reports to Senior Director of Risk Management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the contract approval process from contract generation to contract execution for all contracts, which includes distribution of all contracts, amendments, and extensions as assigned.
- Reviews and analyzes insurance provisions in construction contracts, in conjunction with the insurance company, to determine if Baker meets the requirements or if additional coverage is needed.
- Coordinates with internal team members to assist with bonding, insurance, and other contractual requirements.
- Works with Estimators to review insurance requirements, obtain bond estimates, and obtain bid bonds as required.
- Ensures insurance compliance is met and coordinates with compliance team as needed for Federal required forms, and Public Works required forms/documents.
- Executes activities relating to the signing, filing, tracking, and managing of completed contracts, including performing certain administrative tasks, such as, electronic contracts management, tracking metrics, and scanning documents.
- Assists with special projects as requested and performs additional duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION:
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry, such as, Contract Administrator, Legal Counsel, Risk Manager, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, business law, construction, or a related field of study
- Juris Doctor preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent organizations skills
- Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
- High degree of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office proficiency
- Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all employees within our very diverse company
The starting salary for this opportunity range is listed. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
