We are looking for

• A Regional Health and Safety Manager to provide professional guidance and technical leadership in the areas of personnel safety, industrial hygiene, and emergency response.

We count on you for

• Be the site's Health and Safety leader and coordinate the H&S activities
• Assist the site with risk identification and mitigation.
• Ensure the site complies with H&S regulations and company policies and takes the necessary steps in the event of nonconformities are discovered
• Support site personnel, particularly operations, and maintenance, in performing hazard recognition and mitigation
• Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA rules and corporate policies and procedures
• Complete required corporate reporting related to Health and Safety
• Develop and supervise the annual IH program and monitoring plan, including approving PPE requirements
• Participate in and support the development of site safety programs and annual plans
• Develop and implement site HS training plan
• Observe/monitor site behavior and performance and provide feedback to the site management team
• Review procedures and capital projects as the Health and Safety expert
• Looks for ways to improve Health and Safety performance
• Ensures the implementation of the site's Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment concerning Health and Safety matters
• Supervise, lead, and coordinates the Health and Safety activities in the field
• Participate in implementing the site's HSE policy
• Monitors and analyzes incidents and indicators
• Enforce plant HSSE policies and procedures
• Participate in studies to modify/expand the capacity of existing units as well as projects for new units and processes
• Coordinate, assist, or conduct any incident or near-incident investigations
• Aids the site in preparing for a management system and compliance audits

You will bring
Education and experience

• Minimum of a B.S. in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health/Science, or an Engineering discipline
• Broad knowledge of personnel safety and industrial hygiene, usually gained through 3 to 5 years of experience in the chemical industry

Technical skills

• Working knowledge of rules and regulations, particularly related to personnel safety and industrial hygiene
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Influencing skills are necessary for gaining buy-in on safety procedures and practices

You will get

• The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $71,600.00 to $142,000.00. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives
• 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations

• Locations: Baltimore, (Maryland, USA) / Blue Island (Illinois, USA)
• Travel: Yes, between 20 to 25% of the time
• On-site work model. Shared Resource with Blue Island Site (min of 25% of time on-site presence)
