Job description

Position Summary: Responsible for directing the daily activities of NNH facilities with particular focus on maintenance, security, buildings & grounds, pest control, safety and emergency preparedness. The ability to manage and organize functions for the Corporation.

Will follow role assignments that are in alignment with the Patient Centered Medical Home Standards, and participate in all Patient Centered Medical Home efforts


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Directs work required to facilitate the Corporation’s maintenance personnel, security personnel and support staff specific to all NNH sites.
  • Directs the operations for all NNH facilities which requires routine service requests.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program at NNH sites.
  • Develop and implement an OSHA training program (handling of hazardous materials) for the staff in the facilities and safety department.
  • Develop and implement an environmental services management plan for NNH sites. ( LIFE AND SAFETY) Emergency management plan.
  • Supervises the Corporation’s security, maintenance and transportation personnel to ensure uninterrupted services.
  • Supervises selection, ordering and installation of signage. Assure adherence to the Corporation’s standard signage system.
  • Works as liaison with contractors during construction or contractual projects. Directs the Corporation’s grounds keeping, landscaping and snow removal operations.
  • Communicates with other department employees to insure standardization of Safety Activities are uniformed throughout NNH sites.
  • Assures that necessary instruction and training is performed to insure compliance with JCAHO requirements and to insure safety of all workers in the workplace.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining strategic plan for maintaining NNH sites and grounds.
  • Directs work to assure completion of designated work order on bi-weekly schedule.
  • Coordinates communication within each facility to inform staff of new/revised goals, standards, policies and procedures and to solicit feedback regarding activities.
  • Keeps abreast of pertinent trends and developments in facility maintenance through industry/professional contract pertinent seminar attendance and review of professional journals.
  • Prepares expense and capital budgets for maintenance and security for recommendations to the Director of Finance & Accounting.
  • Interviews applicants; evaluate employees performance; disciplines, hires and/or terminates employees when necessary.
  • Refers contracts and agreements to Director of Finance & Accounting for review.
  • Tours facilities on a regular basis to inspect work performed on various work orders and daily activities.
  • Assists Director of Finance & Accounting in implementing NNH policies.

EXTERNAL NEEDS:


  • Snow removal/landscaping (Proposal)
  • Scavenger Service (Proposal)


INTERNAL/EXTERNAL NEEDS:


  • Coordination of contracting for building repairs, painting, etc. (three proposals are required).
  • Ensuring that a system is in place for reporting needed repairs for each facility.


Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepare information for bi-weekly work schedule.
  • Assists Chief Operations Officer in collecting and assessing health outcome data of patient population and primary service areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent to the completion of an engineering

vocational program or certification in a technical specialty.


Required Licensure and/or Certification:


Minimum Experience:
5 - 7 years in health care facility management, including five

years management experience.


Supervision:
Public Safety, maintenance, transportation staff


Other Requirements:
Saturday hours, evening hours and/or may be required to work at a different site.
