Essential Job Functions

At the direction of the Associate Director of Physical Security and in close coordination with local office Operations teams, the Health & Safety Program Manager will be responsible for establishing Firmwide Health & Safety programs across all US and International Firm offices with the goal of mitigating workplace hazards, achieve regulatory compliance, and ensure the safety of personnel across the Firm. The Health & Safety Program Manager will be responsible for conducting assessments to determine current levels of compliance, identify gaps in current safety initiatives, make recommendations for improvement, implement new policies and procedures, and enforce regulations. The Health & Safety Program Manager will work closely with the Training & Support Coordinator to facilitate and host safety-related training and awareness campaigns. The standard hours for the position may require work after normal business hours coordinating operations across time zones to address emergency situations and to oversee after-hours work related to the essential functions of the position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as

Necessary).

  • Conducting workplace hazard and job safety assessments
  • Conducting accident, injury, and workers’ compensation investigations in conjunction with HR
  • Establishing an office ergonomics program
  • Overseeing floor warden/fire marshal programs
  • Overseeing safety equipment installation and maintenance
  • Coordinating and tracking of safety-related training and certifications
  • Promoting a culture of health and safety awareness
  • Developing training material related to safety initiatives
  • Establishing a firmwide safety committee and maintaining a safety manual
  • Providing consultation on building and fire codes as they relate to security and life safety systems
  • Maintaining a proficient understanding of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations in the US, as well as those which impact offices internationally
  • Establishing close working relationships with local office Operations teams, Human Resources representatives, base building personnel, and other stakeholders

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

The candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in occupational/workplace health and safety and a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in a corporate or professional services environment.  Experience establishing  and managing Health & Safety programs in Class A office environments required.

Candidate must also possess the following skills:

  • A proven track record of outstanding work ethic, with at least 2 verifiable references from previous employers
  • A robust understanding of applicable occupational health and safety rules/regulations that govern office buildings and data center facilities including detailed knowledge of OSHA and NEBOSH requirements
  • An employment career with a proven record of positive career growth
  • Practical investigatory and interview experience
  • Ability to evaluate existing programs and make recommendations to management and leadership
  • Ability to always maintain a professional demeanor
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact with personnel, vendor, and other third parties, at all levels, in a positive manner
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions

Certificates, Licensures, Registrations

  • Professional certifications, licenses, registrations, etc. in occupational health and safety and related disciplines are preferred
