Job Summary:
As the EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Leader, you will spearhead the cultivation of a robust EHS culture while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards and corporate protocols within our facility.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary architect of the facility's EHS system, embodying our corporate values through exemplary leadership.
- Focus on coaching employees at all levels to achieve top-tier EHS performance.
- Act as a key strategic partner and member of the facility leadership team.
- Mentor and develop others to enhance their proficiency as EHS leaders.
- Communicate complex EHS situations, regulations, and metrics effectively across all organizational levels.
- Provide clear direction to ensure compliant execution of EHS programs throughout the facility.
- Collaborate closely with the Corporate EHS Team to develop programs and policies.
- Research, develop, and implement approved policies and procedures governing occupational safety and environmental practices in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Design strategies and identify resources necessary to deliver high-quality and cost-effective EHS training to employees throughout the facility.
- Offer expertise in all EHS areas, recognizing personal limitations and seeking external assistance when necessary.
- Translate experience into actionable initiatives aimed at enhancing regulatory compliance, risk reduction, employee engagement, and behavior-based safety programs.
- Oversee workers' compensation, liability, or property claim investigations and assist in identifying corrective actions.
- Represent the company during Health and Safety inspections by federal, state, or local agencies.
- Conduct routine EHS audits and inspections to verify compliance and address deficiencies promptly.
- Develop and monitor corrective actions resulting from audits, near misses, and inspections.
- Coordinate and manage standard work for hourly safety teams/coordinators.
- Report to the NA Director of EHS and collaborate with the company's US EHS Team.
- Experience with Management Systems such as ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System is advantageous.
- Manage security personnel either through third-party contracts or direct hiring.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, or related fields, or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through work experience.
- 7 or more years of progressively responsible safety and environmental roles in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM, CSHM are desirable but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in governmental safety compliance regulations and their implications on manufacturing operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders and decision-makers effectively.
- Ability to work in both office and plant environments, occasionally facing extreme temperatures.
- Physical capabilities including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various tasks as required.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally and work non-traditional hours to accommodate operational needs (e.g., 24/7 operations).

Salary: $130,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
