Costco is looking for a dedicated and experienced Quality Engineer to join its Mobile Applications Quality Assurance team to help elevate our business to the next level, while having fun learning new technologies and solving complex problems for our members. A key role on the team, the Quality Engineer combines their demonstrated passion for quality with their strong technical skills as we move our quality assurance and test automation efforts forward. The responsibilities of this role will be to collaborate closely with other QA, development, and project personnel in the manual and automated testing of the systems.
The Quality Engineer with a track record of delivering quality mobile software solutions and the ability to apply your experience to new areas or have significant experience testing large scale, multi-system integrated applications in an e-commerce system. Your experience will demonstrate that you have a solid understanding of Quality Assurance best practices, know where and when to apply them, and know when flexibility within those guidelines is acceptable. The candidate must have a clear understanding of the software development methodologies and will have consistently delivered high quality software solutions using various methodologies.

ROLE
Creates defects with detailed information pertaining to the failed test case/scenario with supporting documentation (screenshots, environment details, log files, etc.).
Collaborates with team members to identify existing manual and automated test scripts that will be impacted through the development of new features and capabilities.
Shares feedback with the team members pertaining to the quality of sprint deliverables during retrospectives.
Manages the remediation of defects raised throughout the development lifecycle and creates supporting quality reports that are shared with stakeholders.
Collaborates with product team members (e.g., Product Owners, System Analysts) to define the automating testing approach / strategy for a given product / application.
Collaborates with team members (e.g., DevOps Engineers, Systems Architects) to incorporate new automated test scripts into the continuous integration pipeline.
Shares test automation practices with engineers to promote “shift left” testing disciplines and practices (incorporate testing earlier in development) within a team.
Performs manual Functional validation.
Develops and maintains automation scripts using Android Studio's Espresso and Apple iOS Xcode XCUItest.
Collaborates with the development team to identify test scenarios and create test cases for automation.
Creates and executes project test plans, test cases, automation and all QA-related collateral and documentation for a feature or product area.
Provides accurate estimates for projects, including QA resourcing and testing schedules.
Executes testing directly and/or leveraging offshore resources while ensuring accurate results, identifying failure patterns and supports bug triage processes to bring issues to closure.
Mentors junior team members.
Executes and monitors automated test scripts and reports defects to the development team.
Develops and maintains testing documentation and reports.
Improves testing processes and automation frameworks.
Stays up-to-date with the latest mobile testing trends, tools, and technologies.
Participates in code reviews and contributes to the overall quality of the application.
REQUIRED
Minimum of 3 years of experience in mobile application testing, with a focus on automation scripting.
Strong knowledge of Android Studio's Espresso and/or Apple iOS Xcode XCUItest.
Ability to perform API level testing.
Experience with test automation frameworks such as Appium, Selenium, or similar.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Recommended
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Understanding of web services, SOAP, REST and XML concepts and technologies.
Experience testing large scale, multi-system applications.
Programming knowledge and experience.
History of delivering quality software solutions; ability to apply experience to new areas.
Knowledge of eCommerce systems.

Pay Ranges:
Level 2 - $102,500 - $132,500
Level 3 - $120,000 - $155,000
Level 4 - $145,000 - $175,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible
