Job description


KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a HIMS Coordinator in Livermore, California.

Summary:
Under general supervision, to perform Health Information Management Services clerical activities including medical record activities and release of information.  Application of specialized knowledge of HIMS procedures, hospital organization, and medical terminology. Incumbents are expected to have sufficient judgement to solve complex clerical office problems.

Essential Functions:
  • Paper document prepping, scanning, indexing, and QA.
  • Electronic document scanning, indexing, and QA.
  • Chart analysis for physician documentation.
  • Release of patient information 


Requirements
  • High School or equivalent required
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
  • Basic knowledge of Joint Commission and Title 22 compliance standards as pertains to chart completion.
  • Basic knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to confidential patient information and requirements for releasing.
  • Experience in a clinic, hospital, or office setting required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures including, but not limited to: knowledge of modern standard office machines i.e. computers, scanners, fax, telephones, and copiers
