Purchasing Assistant

Growing family owned plumbing company in FM1960/249 area is in need of a warehouse assistant. Warehouse assistant's responsibilities include storing materials, picking, and packing orders, and keeping warehouse organized. Previous warehouse experience and plumbing material knowledge a plus.
Ideal candidate is highly organized and able to multi task.
Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, and place in pick-up area)
• Receive, sort, and store delivered and returned materials.
• Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards
• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
• Report any discrepancies
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
• Operate and maintain warehouse and equipment
• Be able to identify plumbing products by size, type, and style
• Sourcing suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality and logistical expenses
• Collaborating with Warehouse to ensure that they fulfill all Plumber s requests
• Negotiating sale agreements and supply contracts in ways that benefit our company
• Coordinating with shipping agencies and sellers to ensure timely deliveries and oversee the integrity and quality of delivered goods and services
• Authorizing payments and managing purchasing expenses with meticulous record-keeping

Requirements

• Valid Texas Driver s License

Familiarity with inventory software, databases and systems a plus

• Good organizational and time management skills
• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs
• Can operate a forklift
• Self-driven
• Can work with little supervision
• Basic computer knowledge
• Bilingual a plus
• Candidates will be subject to a background check, drug test, and driving record check

Compensation is negotiable and based on experience.
