POSITION CONCEPT

Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore (JA) is bringing an innovative, life-changing new facility to Delmarva. It’s called the Perdue Henson Junior Achievement Center, and it will change forever how the JA curriculum is delivered to students on the Eastern Shore who currently experience JA in the classroom. This 25,000 sq. ft. building is a place where students get to be an adult for a day, learning the basics of financial literacy; a place where a hands-on, interactive, state-of-the-art student experience warts; a place where once the student leaves, they’ll have an invaluable understanding of how to manage the day-to-day finances so necessary to be successful in life. Imagine a high-tech, practical place to prepare for the world of work and engage with the business community to develop the most desirable skills needed for employment.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for working with schools and educators to implement and oversee the JA Programs that will take place both in the Perdue Henson Junior Achievement Center and classrooms across the Eastern Shore, including Finance Park, BizTown, and more. This position requires an organized and motivated individual who can foster relationships with educators and stakeholders, manage an annual program calendar and engage community volunteers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of JA BizTown, which includes managing school visit dates through regular communication with schools, and educators.
  • Assists P/T staff team to ensure effective visits/simulation experience.
  • Oversees annual scheduling and program agreement implementation with schools and ensures educators are notified and prepared with curriculum and resources prior to JA BizTown visit dates.
  • Implements educator training virtually and/or in-person during designated district professional development dates and hosts webinars.
  • Works with the Education team to recruit, secure, and schedule new and returning schools to participate in JA BizTown. Supports the coordination of curriculum delivery in designated counties.
  • Ensures completion of necessary educator, student, and volunteer program surveys.
  • Coordinates and implements curriculum, simulation, and sponsorship changes as needed in JA BizTown and monitors program supplies and inventory.
  • Provides customer service and support to all stakeholders that contribute to renewing commitments from existing schools, volunteers, and funders. Ensures completion of requirements for funder stewardship plans.
  • Coordinates and manages JA BizTown summer camp program, including participant registration, content development, and recruitment of counselors and volunteers.
  • Assists JA team with other programs and events, as needed.

EDUCATION & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

● Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

● At least 3 years of experience in an educational (preferably K-12) setting

● Excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills

● Detail oriented and committed to meeting deadlines

● Strong interpersonal skills

● Works well independently and as part of a team

● Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills

● Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple deadlines

● Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced work environment

● Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google programs
