We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Trucking company experience preferred!
Duties:
- Process payroll for employees accurately and on time
- Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 forms
- Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee information
- Provide support for payroll-related inquiries from employees
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and procedures
- Familiarity with technical accounting principles
- Proficient in using payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, Kronos)
- Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliation
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
