About the team and position
Carvana needs a Specialist to join the Payroll team. You will also serve as our employees' first point of contact should they have any questions regarding payroll, garnishments, payroll tax, and other various payroll-related questions.
What you'll be doing
- Process biweekly, supplemental, and off-cycle payrolls.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and deductions.
- Review timesheets, time off accruals, and reports to detect discrepancies and reconcile/balance payroll.
- Review, process, and complete general deductions and payments.
- Review, research, and answer payroll-related questions.
- Assist in additional department projects as needed.
What you should know/have
- 3+ years of experience in payroll administration or payroll processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- General understanding of payroll tax and compliance requirements.
- Ability and desire to work continuously and autonomously on tasks.
- Ability to work in an office environment, with extensive use of computers.
- Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information is essential.
- Ability to manage work effectively to the payroll cycle.
- Effective time management and organization skills.
- Superior attention to detail.
It would be nice if you also had
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- Multi-State taxation experience.
- Workday experience.
