Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist for a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely 1-2 days per week. This position pays $30-40 DOE
**Responsibilities:**
- Process payroll for 1000-1700 employees across multiple states using Day Force
- Accurately manage weekly, biweekly, and monthly payroll cycles.
- Analyze and input payroll data to ensure precision and timeliness in processing.
- Address time-sensitive personnel actions, handling confidential information securely.
- Maintain meticulous records, files, and documentation in compliance with policies and legal guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve HR, benefits, and payroll tax-related issues.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring payroll accuracy and adherence to regulations.
- Conduct audits of payroll time sheets, proactively resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare manual checks for terminations, bonuses, and lost checks as needed.
- Process wage garnishments and liaise with relevant agencies for seamless execution.
- Stay current on state and federal wage and hour laws, ensuring compliance.
- Investigate and resolve issues, questions, and discrepancies in employee paychecks.
- Download and review payroll GL journal entries before loading into the ERP system.
- Reconcile payroll data before final transmission and processing.
- Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external inquiries.
- Manage government entity reporting requirements.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience processing payroll for 1000-1700 employees in a multistate environment.
- Proficient in Dayforce, ADP WFN or Ultipro
- Strong understanding of state and federal wage and hour laws.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment with shifting priorities.
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
