Pay Range: $24.00 -$32.40
Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the upkeep and management of the company's payroll. This position is responsible to effectively administer payroll, maintain timekeeping records, review payroll and payroll reports for accuracy, ensure the accounts are balanced and prepare report for review by management. The Payroll Specialist will assist staff and resolve pay-related queries. This position will require the Payroll Specialist to comply with all applicable payroll laws and regulations.
Performance Requirements;
Knowledge;
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Knowledge of the English language to include rules of composition and grammar; spelling; punctuation; sentence structure and content; and of word meaning.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • QuickBooks/OnePoint knowledge is a plus

  • Ability to use Schedule Anywhere software.

  • Major Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Payroll
  • Review timecards for accuracy.
  • Tracks garnishments, vacation, sick time and benefits.
  • Reviews, corrects, files and distributes bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll.
  • Electronically transmits payroll data to and from HRIS/Payroll platform.
  • Maintain manual payroll process
  • Verify accuracy of payroll prepared.
  • Designs and prepares reports on an as needed basis, prepare payroll summary reports for supervisors.
  • Assist in employee enrollment and maintenance in the 401k plan and company benefits. Reconcile monthly benefit plan invoices to ensure accuracy of company/employee costs.
  • Reconcile and audit monthly, quarterly and annually both payroll and 401K
  • Upload and Fund Section 125 Benefits
  • Track leave of absence benefit deductions and coordination of disability pay
  • Payroll reconciliations, including month end journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Accounts Payable
  • Back up Accounting Specialists in AP duties as needed

  • Miscellaneous
  • Perform other clerical duties as needed.
  • Assist materials management as necessary

  • Job Qualifications:
    Equipment operated; standard office equipment including computers, faxes, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
    Education/Experience: Associates in Accounting or a minimum of four years of direct payroll experience
    Physical: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
