Position Summary:
Job Title: Agency Payroll Specialist III
Location: Remote
Duration: 05-06 months
Tax Term: W2
As a Payroll Specialist you will assist with processing and administering US semimonthly and biweekly multi-state payroll for approximately 2000+ employees with responsibilities inclusive of but not limited to accurate file upload, audit and schedule sign-off for all members of the department, and efficient calculation of retroactive payments and bonuses for leave of absence, terms and new hires for all members of department.
Location: 100% remote
Responsibilities:
- Process semi-monthly payroll for exempt employees and bi-weekly payroll for non-exempt employees in multi-state environment
- Process and review new hires, LOA’s, terminations, payroll file maintenance changes and deductions
- Process pay data batches in ADP (commissions, bonus, pro-rate new hire pays, spot bonus, time batches for hourly and salaried employees, special pays and severance)
- Maintain accurate payroll information in ADP System
- Troubleshoot problems with paychecks, tax deductions, timecard issues, and other payroll-related matters and respond accordingly to inquiries.
- Assist with integration of newly acquired business units.
- Provide reports to HR, accounting and Tax department.
- Perform other job-related duties, as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4-7 years of payroll experience
- Must have experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Demonstrate knowledge of multi-state and Federal Labor laws, pay practices and policies
- Solid understanding of payroll operations including transactions such as 401K compensation and contribution funding and limits, incentive/bonus/benefit offerings, multistate payroll regulations, etc.
- A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Experience with Excel, including formulas, v-look up, and linked spreadsheets
