Job Title: Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Dispatcher
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as a NEMT Dispatcher. In this role, you will play a crucial part in coordinating and facilitating the transportation of individuals with non-emergency medical needs. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and the ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Dispatch Coordination:
- Efficiently coordinate and schedule non-emergency medical transport services for individuals with varying personal and medical needs.
- Liaise with drivers and clients to ensure timely and safe pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Monitor transportation routes, making real-time adjustments to accommodate changes or delays.
- Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, medical facilities, network partners and drivers.
- Communicate effectively with drivers to relay important information, such as client preferences, special requirements, or changes to the schedule.
- Provide clear instructions and assistance to drivers and ensure they are well-informed about their assignments.
- Work closely with other office staff to organize maintenance and vehicle swapping at our local shop.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transportation schedules, client details, and driver assignments.
- Document any changes, delays, or issues that may arise during transportation to ensure a detailed record is maintained for upper management.
- Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve or escalate any issues or concerns related to transportation services promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with drivers and clients to find solutions to unexpected challenges, ensuring a positive experience for all parties involved.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular review of on-time performance and customer satisfaction to ensure they meet quality standards and adhere to company policies.
- Implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the dispatching process.
- Compliance:
- Stay informed about and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing non-emergency Medical Transportation services.
- Provide support in maintaining proper documentation for random inspections by PBOT or other governing bodies in the NEMT space.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or healthcare administration is a plus.
- Proven experience in dispatching or coordination roles, preferably in a healthcare or transportation setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficient in using dispatch software and other relevant technology.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and transportation logistics is an asset.
Schedule Requirement:
Wednesday-Saturday
9:30am-6:00pm (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)
3:30am-4:30pm (Saturday)
