Aging and People with Disabilities (APD), part of the Oregon Department of Human Services, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual for a Front Desk Admin (Office Specialist 2) in the Oregon City office.
** Bilingual skills in both Spanish and English are preferred,but not a requirement for this position. This position may receive a 5% differential pay based on passing the required language test.

YOUR DUTIES AT A GLANCE:
In this position, you will:
In this position, the majority of your day will be helping individuals and families seeking services by providing specialized assistance at the Front Desk. This position helps to guide customers of the Aging and People with Disabilities population through the sharing of rules, policies, procedures and programs in collaboration with other branch staff. You will be responsible for processing and forwarding information from the public. You will be responsible for a broad range of support that may include referring Oregonians to community resources or making appointments with the Oregon Department of Human Services for requested services. This position also may include a wide variety of data entry, financial and administrative tasks in support of the branch office operations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works primarily at the Front Desk in a general office environment. May come into contact with frustrated individuals, and those with behavioral and/or cognitive challenges. Occasional travel to attend employee trainings. A driver’s license is required and an acceptable driving record or an acceptable form of transportation..
WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS(MQ’s):
Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents;
OR
An associate degree in any field;
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:
Face-to-face customer service experience in an office setting with a culturally diverse population
Experience gathering information from customers to help determine the type of services to meet the needs of the customer
Experience with repetitive data entry
Experience handling a high volume of multiple tasks with competing deadlines
Experience working with a variety of software and/or databases in an office setting
Experience managing and defusing difficult situations with the goal of a positive outcome.
Experience in handling sensitive and confidential information
