Job Summary:
The position of the Payroll Specialist consists of compiling reports to verify employee time and payroll data, auditing employee wages, deductions, and processing facility payrolls in a web-based Payroll system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compile reports to verify payroll data from timecards.
- Verify wages and deductions, once payrolls have been processed and calculated.
- Verify leave time, such as vacation, vacation payouts, and sick leave for active and terminated employees.
- Process employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.
- Audit paperwork for new employees and employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations.
- Review hours worked, pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records.

- Working understanding of payroll principles, practices, and procedures.

- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excel knowledge is preferred: basic formatting, Pivot Tables, and VLOOKUP.
- Knowledge of using the internet and web-based platforms.
- Experience with UKG is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic Payroll knowledge
