Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll:

• Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 145 employees.
• Process quarterly safety bonuses.
• Maintain knowledge of Federal and State payroll tax laws.
• Manage new hire information and employee data changes.
• Process terminations promptly.
• Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax reports, including W-2s.
• Maintain accurate records of wage garnishments and child support orders.
• Assist with auditors during the annual 401k audit.

Invoices:

• Handle incoming invoices efficiently.
• Review invoices for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Match purchase orders with invoices and update accounting records.

Checks:

• Issue payments for Marine Company invoices bi-weekly.
• Process monthly payments for various company invoices.
• Manage inter-company transfers and miscellaneous payments.
• Maintain organized records of paid invoices.
• Oversee tax ID# acquisition for 1099 reporting.
• Manage annual property tax payments.
• Order checks as needed for all companies.
• Monthly reconciliation and payment of credit card statements.

Other Duties:

• Assist in various office tasks and special projects.
• Forward insurance cards and vehicle registrations to the Director of Purchasing.
• Attend accounting team meetings and take notes.
• Collaborate and provide support to colleagues as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
