Job description

New Pig is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator. This position is primarily responsible for performing timely and accurate preparation and processing of weekly payroll in compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws. The position also has administrative responsibility for management of our Learning Management System.  

We are looking for an organized person who can produce high quality, accurate work based on established guidelines, standards, and procedures, and who has a passion to serve our internal customers. The ideal candidate will have ADP payroll experience within a multi-shift, multi-location manufacturing environment. This position will be located onsite in Tipton. 


Key responsibilities include: 

  • Administer the weekly payroll process for both exempt and non-exempt positions
  • Update and maintain confidential records and HR databases to include entering new hires, terminations, wage garnishments, and other personnel actions
  • Timely maintenance of all HR-related filing
  • Create weekly, quarterly, and annual reports, including ad hoc reports as requested by internal customers
  • Train and advise employees on the payroll system
  • Research and resolve all payroll issues; perform audits on a regular and consistent basis to ensure accuracy
  • Work with third party vendors, including ADP and tax offices, to comply with tax and wage laws
  • Respond timely to unemployment claims, filing appeals, and employment verifications
  • Enter all new hire I-9s into E-Verify federal database including timely completion of any state requirements
  • Coordinate and manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and serve as main contact for audits involving training
  • Assist with additional human resource functions as needed, including special events, responding to employee and employment-related inquiries, conducting exit interviews, and participating in HR-led training programs etc.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement in relation to human resource policies and procedures
  • Ensure company directives and policies are followed, as well as maintain adherence to all applicable laws and regulations
  • Assist with creating, maintaining, and updating procedures for designated functional area(s) to ensure up to date processes are documented
  • Perform all other Payroll, Human Resources or Administrative duties as assigned or directed
  • Adhere to New Pig’s Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards


Successful candidates will have the following qualifications: 

  • Payroll experience with ADP Workforce Now, preferably within a manufacturing organization
  • Knowledge of wage and tax laws, including those for Federal contractors
  • Demonstrated track record of being well organized, detail oriented and able to produce consistent, error-free work
  • Experience supporting managers and employees via interpretation and application of policies
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, HR systems)
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Ability to collaborate with peers to identify process improvements
