Major Food Group is hiring a dynamic Payroll Coordinator to join our growing team! The ideal candidate for this role is a self-motivated, passionate individual.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing and processing combined payrolls and assisting managers, employees and senior leaders as appropriate.
- Completion of accurate and efficient payrolls, including processing of all required payroll reports and checks.
- Works closely with The Human Resources Team and Accounting Departments to ensure locations meet proper cut-off dates and adhere to their weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting schedules
- Provides customer service and assistance to program managers and employees regarding payroll questions and issues
- Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Assist with retroactive payment calculation and payroll adjustment calculations
- Processing and compliance of all garnishment orders, W4 and state withholding
- Processing of time and attendance, ensure hours are tracked and processed accurately
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure accuracy of employee data and identify systematic issues
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends or areas for improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Payroll.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have 2-3 years of experience in payroll, HR compliance, administration and benefits
- Restaurant/Retail experience preferred
- Multi state payroll experience preferred
- Self-starter with willingness to work hands-on
- Excellent problem-solving skills: recognize, analyze and resolve effectively
- Must be detail-oriented and organized with excellent communication skills, verbal and written with technical and non technical audiences
- Advance knowledge of MS Excel required
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits and earnings
- Must possess strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced corporate environment.
