Position Summary: The Payroll Coordinator ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll, both weekly and bi-weekly. Reviews and maintains employee pay records in time and attendance system. Validates payroll system changes made by the Human Capital department including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Work with assigned company locations to obtain the information needed to process payroll.
- Review information submitted to local payroll for accuracy and report any issues.
- Review Kronos for errors and communicate necessary corrections.
- Investigate and resolve unusual payroll activity.
- Process manual payroll checks for terminations and corrections.
- Process manual pay adjustments for new hires, terminations, errors, etc.
- Ensure timely submission of payroll to the corporate office for processing.
- Assist employees and supervisors with payroll questions.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and payroll policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update payroll-related systems and reports as needed.
- Respond to payroll related inquiries related to the interpretation and application of Company policies and procedures.
- Participate in the implementation of processes to streamline payroll functions.
- Other projects or duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of experience with payroll processes.
- General understanding of payroll tax withholdings.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, demonstrate good judgment and discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, reasoning and deduction skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Efficient organizational skills.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize duties and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Able to work independently and make sound, timely decisions.
- Must demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and understand new technical concepts.
- This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience in processing weekly payroll for a medium sized company.
