POSITION: Deputy Auditor - Accounts Payable (Part-Time)
DEPARTMENT: Auditor
POSITIONS OPEN: 1
SALARY RANGE: $17.09/hour
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time; At Will; Non Benefitted Position
JOB SUMMARY
Performs a variety of data entry, clerical, filing and Accounts Payable related functions that assist with the controlling, monitoring and accounting of county revenues, expenses and general finances of the County Auditor's Office in Parowan, Utah.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent with one (1) or more years of related experience in basic accounting, bookkeeping and spreadsheet operations OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must have and maintain a valid Utah Driver License in accordance with Iron County Personnel Policy Section 30;
Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen;
Must maintain compliance with Iron County drug and alcohol policy;
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; basic accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures;
Skill in various computer applications including word processing, data entry and spreadsheets; operating office machines and equipment; managing stress and meeting deadlines; exercising initiative, independent judgment and resourcefulness in varying conditions; Ability to follow directions given both verbally and in writing; prioritize and organize responsibilities; learn and recommend new and improved procedures; maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work activities; maintain accuracy and attention to detail in work assignments; work unsupervised and accept responsibility for actions; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; distill relevant and useful elements from vast amounts of information; understand and follow broad objectives and instructions; read, comprehend and apply rules, regulations and procedures; maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
