Parish Administrative Assistant

The primary criterion for this position is the ability to further the ministry of St. Mary’s by facilitating communication and organization through the direction of the rector. The ability to maintain confidentiality is crucial. Computer skills a must and be able to learn basic accounting program. Applicant must have a positive mental attitude, a willingness to be of service, a welcoming presence, as well as being a self-starter, and wanting to work in a safe and friendly work environment.

Responsibilities:

Record parishioner contributions, enter, post deposits, and coordinate with money counters and bookkeeper

Download, print, and collate Sunday/Holyday Worship Bulletins

Send readings to lectors and place on lectern in church

Issue checks: payroll and vendors, and maintain accounts payable

General Correspondence

Attend monthly Vestry meetings and record meeting minutes

Record parishioner pledges

Complete Diocesan records and parochial report

Check restrooms and put bulletins in church for the weekend

Communicate with parishioners as directed: send schedules, reminders, Stewardship Appeal

16 hours/week

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.31 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 16 per week
