About Bags of Love:
Founded in 2008, Bags of Love provides critical necessities and comfort items to Lane County children and teens who are impacted by abuse, neglect, poverty, homelessness or disaster. Provided free of charge, every bag of love includes age appropriate clothing, outerwear, toiletries, school supplies, books, toys and a handmade quilt or fleece blanket. Bags of Love coordinates their efforts with over 120 regional nonprofits, government offices, and school district locations who help identify children in need and assist with distributing the bags.
Bags of Love as experienced increased growth in the last 2 years and we are looking for an individual to join our lean team who would like to gain experience in development with a growing and dynamic nonprofit. Operations are currently managed by an executive director and staff of 4 part-time employees as well as large, dedicated base of volunteers. We focus on maintaining a positive, supportive and inclusive work environment for all employees and volunteers.
Job Summary:
The Outreach & Engagement Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the achievement of Bags of Love’s fundraising and communication goals through planning and execution. The individual reports to the Executive Director to establish and achieve fundraising goals. The Outreach Coordinator will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive and strategic fundraising plan that includes grants from private foundations and corporations, individual donors, social media presence, special events, and special campaigns.

- Possess commitment to extreme attention to detail, including but not limited to ability to implement self-checking procedures for data entry, produce accurate correspondence and reports, and produce and edit written materials accurately and consistently
- Willingness to develop public speaking abilities, strong computer, and email skills
- Experience in using Microsoft Office, Little Green Light, Canva, and social media outlets
- Have excellent project management and organizational skills to routinely manage and prioritize daily work and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously, especially during high-volume times of the year
- Create visual, written and audio assets that enable compelling storytelling
Leadership:
- Establish and execute the strategic development plan that includes yearly overall funding goals, donor cultivation, donor retention and expansion, individual donor base growth, corporate and foundation relations, and special events in coordination with the Executive Director
- Identify funds needed for programs and the approaches to reach the goals.
- Track industry trends, strategies, opportunities, and fundraising best practices to apply to the department
- Develop strategies to effectively communicate Bags of Love’s the mission, goals, and accomplishments to donors, prospective donors, and the broader community
- Develop plans and activities to ensure individual donors are engaged year-round, educated about Bags of Love, and informed about the impact they are making annually through strategic touch points
Fundraising and Special Events:
- Oversee the planning and successful execution of Bags of Love Annual Dinner & Auction and other special events
- Serve as an articulate, passionate, and visible spokesperson for Bags of Love
- Create and implement a plan to build strong relationships with community leaders, community-based organizations and volunteers
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Evenings as needed
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
