Job Summary
The Oregon State University Honors College is seeking a Student Engagement and Recruitment Coordinator . This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The Oregon State University Honors College (HC) is a degree granting college within Oregon State University (OSU). The overall mission of the college is to provide an innovative, enriched learning experience to more than 2000 undergraduates, integrating students from all academic colleges into a cohesive community. The college supports OSU’s strategic initiatives; advances equity, inclusion, and diversity; and provides employees with resources to meet the college’s strategic priorities, while also supporting employee professional development and growth.
This position is responsible for the development, management and implementation of Engagement and co-curricular student programming with a focus on prospective, newly-admitted and first-year HC students. The Honors College Student Engagement and Recruitment Coordinator oversees recruitment, admissions and onboarding activities in the college, ensuring alignment with community values and strategic priorities and is responsible for the creation of new programming and program assessment and success. This position serves as a key partner with University Housing and Dining to create a vibrant Honors College living-learning community and residential experience. The Student Engagement and Recruitment Coordinator also plays a central role in cultivating student leadership and engagement in the college, working with professional and student staff, and serves as a representative of the college at recruitment and engagement events.

What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree
- Professional experience managing and developing events
- Professional experience supporting student recruitment communications and activities
- Proven ability to work effectively with stakeholder groups from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion
- Strong writing, communications and presentation skills
- Demonstrated familiarity and competence with basic office technologies (email, word processing, social media, website navigation)
- Ability to use analytics to assess and revise work activities
- Experience managing concurrent short- and long-term projects
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You to Have
- Master’s degree in student services or a related field.
- Two years of professional experience within a higher education setting managing events and/or recruitment activities
- One year experience supervising or overseeing student employees
- Experience working with students who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education
- Experience developing, planning and implementing events to support Student Engagement and success
- Experience in use of assessment tools to inform co-curricular and curricular initiatives and programs
- Familiarity with honors programs or colleges
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
This position requires working irregular hours and various times in the year and requires occasional evening and weekend work. The individual in this position may drive with students to events or other activities, requiring the ability to drive a university vehicle.
