Position Summary
If you are passionate about leveraging technology to enhance student services and promote equitable access to education, then this may be the role for you. In this role, you will be responsible for recommending, developing, implementing, and coordinating services and activities aimed at improving student success, engagement, and retention in online classes. The ideal candidate will create a sense of community for online learners, assure quality programming, and actively engage in outreach and orientation efforts.

Candidate Profile
These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.
  • Experience designing, planning, and implementing support services across student-facing service areas and in the virtual/online modality, including creating materials for a diverse population of learners with varying digital literacy and technological skills.
  • Demonstrated experience completing program assessments in collaboration with key stakeholders, specifically in evaluating the efficacy of services and identifying service gaps.
  • Demonstrated experience representing the needs of Online Students in various college committees, task forces, and work groups, and successfully developing initiatives to enhance support services for Online Students.
  • Demonstrated experience in Online Student engagement, including experience hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating the performance of student employees.
  • Experience collaborating with faculty, students, and college staff to design and conduct online workshops on topics like college resources, scholarships, transfer processes, and student success.
  • Knowledge of ways to promote culturally responsive and inclusive practices that center on historically underserved and marginalized communities as well as knowledge of principles related to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Two years of experience developing Online Student services, creating instructional and informational material for the internet, and using computers and software to communicate with students.

$56,401.00 to $60,422.00 (Step 3); based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)
  • Starts at 13.33 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of services)
  • 1 day of sick leave per month
  • 11 holidays
  • 3 additional personal leave days per year

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work is generally performed in an office setting. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. Work pressure from deadlines and daily interruptions of work flow are expected and occur on a regular basis. Minimal physical exertion is required. Learned physical skill is required to perform keyboarding function.
