Description
This position is responsible for the advancement of Vermont Foodbank's Organizational Learning and development. This position creates opportunity for the Vermont Foodbank's capacity for learning, innovation, collaboration and engagement and in alignment with the organization's strategic direction, values and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. In partnership with the EPeC team, department leaders and staff, the incumbent will assess, design and implement learning and development opportunities and curriculum aligned with department and organizational needs and objectives. This position will serve as a primary support toward advancing Organizational Learning in areas of diversity, equity and inclusion. The incumbent will be self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communications skills with a background in adult learning and organizational development.

Work cooperatively with staff and volunteers to support the mission of the Foodbank to meet and sustain organizational goals.
Positively contribute to an organizational culture of safe and secure food handling, warehousing and distribution.
The foodbank relies on volunteers everyday to fulfill our mission. All Foodbank employees must support our culture of philanthropy by treating every volunteer with appreciation and respect.
This position will occasionally be required to travel to other Foodbank locations and to attend required meetings, trainings, etc. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Assess, design and deliver learning curriculum and plans for organizational and staff learning and development.
Collaborate with department leaders to identify and implement learning opportunities for all staff personal and professional development and technical job skills.
Cultivate effective relationships across the organization to increase collaboration and understanding of shared goals and strategic focus. Inspire actions and responsibility toward achieving our collective goals.
Foster practices of inclusive and appreciative organizational development which advance strategic goals and DEI values.
Advance the organizational talent management model by supporting leaders in the utilization of talent management tools and support learning and development opportunities for career pathways.
In partnership with EPeC team and relevant committees, serve as primary coordinator for all-staff learning days, supervisor trainings and deep dives.
Maintain suite of learning resources and tools and ensure learning solutions are relevant and accessible to all learning styles of the VF team.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors, and ensure purchased products and services are up to date with relevant needs.
Establish and maintain process to assess and evolve Organizational Learning plan to ensure relevance to learning needs. This may include periodic surveys, evaluations and change management tactics.
Utilize change management strategies to support organizational needs toward effective and efficient change.
Keep up to date with knowledge, insights, research and trends in adult and Organizational Learning.
Other Functions:
Take on special projects on behalf of the chief executive officer and board of directors
Other duties as assigned by the chief executive officer and/or chief EPeC officer.
Education and/or Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree.
5-7 years of relevant experience required.
Progressively responsible experience in adult learning and development, human resources or organizational development.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, group facilitation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

- Ability to build relationships with supervisors and serve as primary contact for organizational and individual learning needs.
- Ability to manage complexity and respond to organizational needs with flexibility, compassion and collaboration.
- Knowledge of varied adult learning styles and ability to design curriculum and learning solutions to meet the organization's wide needs.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and leadership to maintain effective relationships with employees, leadership and community volunteers.
- Ability to facilitate small and large group learning solutions in alignment with organizational goals, values and strategic direction.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills in areas of varied IT and learning systems, plus logistical planning to implement learning solution.
- Work occasionally requires a high level of mental acuity when performing essential duties.
- Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints, interruptions.
- Demonstrate behaviors to reflect responsibility, reliability and dependability through all aspects of job functions and deliverables.
- Ability to accept feedback and modify approach as needed by partners.
- Employee must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds.
- Ability to travel to all VF locations or events as needed.
- Position may occasionally require flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends.
Language Skills:
- Employee must be proficient in oral and written skills, critical thinking and have a firm command of the English language.
- Able to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Technical/Computer Skills:
An advanced level of knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) is expected.
Familiarity with and proficiency in HRIS, billing and accounting systems preferred.
The ability to learn emerging technologies.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
A valid Vermont Driver's License.
3-year motor vehicle report (MVR) showing a clean driving record.
