BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Parks & Recreation, this is a working Supervisory position responsible for coordinating operational activities including managing service personnel and general office assistance; prepares correspondence; greets visitors and provides information; processes forms and requisitions; maintains database information; organizes and files information; serves as liaison with service personnel
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for positive relationships with clients, guests, City employees, citizens, external agencies, vendors, and the public.
- Analyzes problems by providing alternatives and identifying solutions supporting the established goals in the department
- Ability to assess, prioritizes tasks, projects, demands, and events that are at the Conference Center
- Skills in operating and utilizing various business software and communications equipment
- Ability to develop and maintain files and records
- Must be an independent, self-starter and be able to listen to citizen complaints and concerns
- Basic knowledge of Conference Center facility equipment
- Must be able to keep sensitive information confidential
- Ability to administer and follow City ordinances, rules, regulations and policies and assure direct report staff does the same
- Promoting and enforcing safe work practices
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, and officials in other departments
- Ability to apply organizational and management practices as applied to analyzing and evaluating programs, policies, and operational needs
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: An associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience in a public facility or other service-focused hospitality position
High school graduate or equivalent; OR
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED: A Valid Class C Texas driver license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDS:Primarily in an indoor environment with the ability to operate outdoors when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during summer and winter months.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment including multi-line telephone, computer, fax machine, copier, scanner, shredder, printer, audiovisual, commercial kitchen appliances, HVAC, cleaning items, etc.

Pay: $25.61 - $28.28 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
