Recruitment/Posting Title Quantitative Researcher Department Cornwall Ctr Metro Studies Salary Commensurate With Experience Posting Summary
The Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies is seeking to hire a part-time (10-30hrs/week), temporary Quantitative Researcherto conduct short-term data analytics and research projects (multiple positions available). Projects range from 2-4 months. Projects include:
1. Analyzing student, school, and district level education data on specified topic areas and writing reports (e.g., enrollment patterns and outcomes in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate, identifying and understanding positive outlier districts and schools)
2. Data preparation and data visualization for an online data hub with community data
3. Data preparation, data visualization, and writing a landscape scan report with community data
The Researcher will conduct quantitative data collection and cleaning, data management, data mining, statistical modeling, and/or develop data visualizations and dashboards. The Researcher will also write reports for stakeholders and the public.
The Quantitative Researcher will work on projects involving large-scale, longitudinal education administrative data, Census data, and other data sources. Strong quantitative skills, data management and maintenance of databases, experience working with complex datasets from multiple sources, and experience working on applied research projects are essential.
The quantitative Researcher will contribute to planning and presenting at the Center's research convenings or other dissemination activities. The Researcher must be committed to using research as tool for achieving equity. Experience with place-based research would be very advantageous as would familiarity with research on school and community change and funding. Cornwall quantitative projects are in partnership with various local and state stakeholder groups and focus on numerous topics in K-12 education and community research.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Master's degree preferably in public policy, education, sociology, economics, public administration, or a related field and substantial (3 years or more) relevant experience with clear evidence of effectiveness.
Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Position requires a person with excellent organizational talents, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work with diverse interests in a spirit of cooperation. Strong written and oral communication skills and an ability to work independently with minimal supervision are essential.

Immunization Requirements
