The Operations Specialist travels to properties within the assigned portfolio to provide operational and training support or to fill in where there is a vacant position in Management. The Operations Specialist works closely with the Regional Property Managers across a wide range of responsibilities for which the Regional Property Manager is responsible for. Works in a variety of support functions that may include marketing, operational consistencies, and personnel. Responsible for onboarding new associates in assigned region. Help support and ensure successful company initiatives and operational roll-outs.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5 years experience in multifamily housing industry at the community manager level.
- Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) preferred.
- Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws, OSHA requirements and EEOC.
Required Skills and Abilities
- This position requires up to 50% travel.
- Effective data collection, validation and auditing skills.
- Analytical skills to run financial models as well as analyze all aspects of the local real estate markets.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills with ability to present reports and communicate technical or numerate data in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and think proactively and strategically.
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Property Management Systems
- Capability to work within the team and work within a diverse, collaborative and driven professional environment.
- The position does require the ability to communicate effectively in English, and the ability to perform advanced business mathematical functions.
- The position requires the ability to deal well with people and exhibit strong leadership skills. Evidence of leadership qualities must be exhibited with the region, the company and/or the industry.
- Ability to understand and perform all on-site software functions; basic computer skills required.
