The Operations Manager leads and manages the operations at Ashtabula Plant 2, providing overall leadership for the safe, reliable, legally compliant, environmentally sound and profitable manufacture of products at this plant according to the strategy of business management. A key accountability is the continuous improvement of the site performance for development and future growth.
SHE Excellence
· Champion for the 20 principles of process and behavioral safety
· Perform as Asset Manager for Ashtabula Plant 2 (boundary shown in section H)
· Have employees and systems prepared to respond to site emergencies
· Ensure assets are operated within their designed parameters
· Ensure assets are maintained to appropriate standards
· Ensure robust safe work systems are in place and hazard assessments are performed (both process and behavioral)
· Assure compliance with environmental permits and legal regulations
· Drive to SHE (including process safety) targets and demonstrate improvements
Fixed and Capex
· Deliver budgeted controllable fixed costs
· Deliver variable efficiencies per agreed values annually
· Have processes that manage expenses and reveal improvement opportunities/execute the opportunities
· Evaluate Capex requirements and deliver results of projects
Reliability
· Achieve reliability target for production
· Ensure data is utilized in development of reliability improvement plans
· Deliver on quality, budgeted production volumes
Long term competitiveness of the plant
· Contribute inputs, review and challenge of site strategy
· Partner with commercial and R&D teams to develop new site opportunities
Operations Manager Specific Duties
· Provide leadership, guidance, coaching and decision making, to ensure employees understand company goals and have the knowledge and resources needed to accomplish them
· Manage personnel (including performance, compensation, succession planning and discipline)
· Assure compliance with HR policies and applicable state/federal laws
- B.S. degree, preferably in engineering
- Experience in a leadership role is desired to develop and demonstrate required leadership competencies.
- Experience working in a union environment preferred
