Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, this position is responsible for a wide array of activities and services related network architecture, design, security, analysis, maintenance and support of the California Public Safety Microwave Network (CAPSNET) System. This position is responsible for providing services and support to all CAPSNET core infrastructure platforms including network services, server computing services, information security controls, and day to day operations. This is a lead network level position operating across the system engineering and information security domains.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule which includes up to two days of remote work per week. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.

The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is an emergency response, homeland security, and disaster recovery agency and as a result, is a dynamic and exciting place to work in a team-oriented environment. Cal OES provides training to enhance the understanding of emergency and incident management to all employees.
The Logistics Directorate is responsible for a wide variety of Cal OES functions, including asset management, fleet administration, facilities management, warehousing, forms and records management, mail operations, copy service center, green programs, public safety communications, and emergency and disaster logistics.
In the event of an emergency, employees may be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency. This contact may be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites.
