Multimedia Specialist

• Location: Remote with about 50%-75% travel - Living in one of our key markets is strongly preferred - This includes Nashville, Chicago, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Austin, Tulsa, Wichita, and/or Jacksonville

As a Multimedia Specialist, you are a hands-on leader in creating top notch content for Ascension’s Internal Communications team.

You will partner with colleagues across Ascension to create engaging, visual pieces that support our communication and business objectives. Our teams will lean on your expertise with video, audio and photography. As an in-house, visual storyteller, you’ll use a variety of media tools to bring Ascension’s stories to life with energy and creativity. Every project is a new opportunity to solve a problem, connect others or make a positive difference.

You are also a strong communicator who will collaborate with other designers, writers, videographers, photographers and strategists to create pieces that connect, inform and inspire others. You also will provide input to our broader editorial calendar as we create the stories that resonate with people and elevate the Ascension brand across all of our markets and channels.

• Lead the capture of various assets including videos, photos and audio content captured both remotely (virtually) and onsite (on location in market) for use by Ascension teams
• Own the technical expertise and skills in using key production resources including video and audio equipment, lighting and other hardware and software tools to create content
• Balance strategic needs and production resources to meet objectives on budget and deadline
• Engage and communicate professionally as the trusted production counsel for leaders, key stakeholders and various subject matter experts
• Work well with vendor partners and other collaborators, sharing expertise and building trusted ongoing relationships
• Ensure all created content fits our communication and brand style, and reflects Ascension’s Mission, Vision and Values as a healing ministry of the Catholic Church
• Maintain flexible availability and responsiveness both during and outside of standard work hours as necessary

• This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects and lead onsite production shoots with the grace and ability to adjust quickly to changes and needs.
• In addition to video production expertise, strong writing, copy-editing and organizational skills are also required.
• Knowledge of basic audio-visual and other media is a plus (e.g., microphones, speakers, livestream, podcast recording, mobile recording, teleprompter, etc.)
• Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus. Must be able to work well in a stressful, fast-paced environment
• This is a remote position with significant domestic travel anticipated (50-75%) for production shoots and events.

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• Bachelor's level degree

• Four to five years experience as videographer, photographer, producer or content creator; (Please provide reel or site with production examples)
• Production expertise with operating video, photography and/or audio equipment; Strong proficiency with editing, motion graphics and/or content creation tools
• Proven self-starter with communications expertise across matrixed organizations
• Some management experience a plus
