Responsibilities:

• Loading and Unloading:
• Safely load and unload furniture, boxes, and other household items from trucks.
• Ensure proper placement and securement of items to prevent damage during transportation.
• Packing and Wrapping:
• Pack and wrap fragile items securely to prevent breakage during transit.
• Use appropriate materials, such as bubble wrap, packing paper, and blankets, to protect items.
• Furniture Assembly and Disassembly:
• Assemble and disassemble furniture as needed, ensuring proper handling and care.
• Use tools and equipment to dismantle and reassemble items according to guidelines.
• Inventory Management:
• Maintain accurate inventory of items being moved.
• Keep track of the condition of items and report any damages or discrepancies.
• Safe Driving Practices:
• Assist in the safe operation of company vehicles, including loading and unloading items.
• Follow traffic rules and ensure the safety of all team members and the public.
• Customer Service:
• Provide excellent customer service by being courteous and professional.
• Communicate effectively with customers to address concerns and answer questions.
• Physical Fitness:
• Demonstrate physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of lifting and moving heavy items.
• Follow proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Perform routine maintenance on moving equipment, such as dollies and hand trucks.
• Report any issues or malfunctions promptly.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
• Time Management:
• Complete tasks within established time frames to meet scheduled deadlines.
• Efficiently organize and prioritize tasks to maximize productivity.
• Adherence to Safety Protocols:
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Problem Solving:
• Address challenges that may arise during the moving process, finding practical solutions.
• Report any issues or obstacles to supervisors for resolution.
• Maintain Cleanliness:
• Keep work areas, including trucks and storage spaces, clean and organized.
• Dispose of packing materials and waste appropriately.

These responsibilities cover a range of tasks involved in the moving process, and a successful moving company laborer should be adaptable, physically fit, and committed to providing excellent customer service.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
