Description: Medical Receptionist / Patient Intake Clerk

Reports to: Office Manager

Job Purpose: Enter lab data into Acumen EHR for all non-interfaced lab results. New patient intake and scheduling appointments. Serves patients by greeting them, clinic check in and out processes; Creates and maintains accurate electronic medical records.

Job Duties:

·         Answers and triage’s patient phone calls promptly

·         Receptionist - clinic check-in and check-out processes per office procedures; Provides patients with appropriate forms to complete or review; scans forms into EHR

·         Ensures availability of treatment information by retrieving and filing patient records

·         Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating information in EPIC

·         Maintains reception area

·         New patient intake and scheduling

·         Data enters all non-interfaced lab results and routes to appropriate personnel for review

·         Participates and assists in Value Based Care initiatives to ensure VBC metrics are being met

·         Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential.

·         Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.

·         Clerical duties as assigned

Responsibilities:

·         Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of all protected health information, per HIPAA guidelines

·         Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes

·         Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

·         Completes all compliance modules in a timely manner

·         40 hours per week
