Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant Floater

Bergen Ear, Nose & Throat Associates is looking for a new team player! We are seeking a Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant for a busy ENT practice in Hackensack, NJ who is motivated and focused on improving patient care. This individual will play an important role in the front-end processes of the medical practice and must exhibit excellent customer service. Candidates must be comfortable working with patients and display excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Answers high-volume calls on a multi-line phone system; screens and directs calls, take detailed messages, and/or forwards telephone calls to the appropriate physician or team member.
• Schedules new and established patient appointments.
• Inputs and verifies demographics and insurance in EMR.
• Collects copay and balances, verifies insurance eligibility, and ensures physician and insurance referrals are on file.
• Meet and greet patients with a friendly smile and a positive attitude.
• Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to prepare and forwarding mail, scanning, photocopying, and faxing as required.
• Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues, comply with HIPPA rules and regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by physician, supervisor, or management.
• Triage patients, authorizations for diagnostic testing and prescriptions, assist physician with procedures. NO EKG, or labs.

Qualifications:

• 2 year of related healthcare experience preferred.
• High School diploma or GED
• Strong organizational skills: able to manage priorities and multitask in a faced pace environment.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
• Understanding of medical terminology and medical insurance.
• Must be able to take accurate message.
• Computer savvy.
• Must be able to triage patients over the phone.
• English/Spanish Preferred.
• Must be a team player.

Job Type:

• Last patient is anywhere between 5:30 & 6:30 PM

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
