We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. This candidate must have insurance verification knowledge. Ideal candidate has billing and coding background. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using EMR system
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays, deductible and balances
- Maintain patient records and update any changes in medical history or personal information
- Faxing, scanning documents, and obtaining prior authorizations for office and hospital testing.
- obtain referrals from primary doctors and know which insurance require a referral to a specialists
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist is required
- Proficient in using medical scheduling systems such as Epic, Eclincialworks, or Officeally
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping
