Medical Receptionist

We are a rapidly growing privately owned physical therapy clinic. We have recently opened our second location in Van Nuys neighborhood and are looking for professionals to staff the clinic. Candidate must portray a very friendly and inviting environment. Working on Saturdays is a plus.

Candidates MUST have at least 1 year of medical office, patient coordinator, and insurance verification experience.

Compensation: Wage will start from $18.00 dollars per hour based on performance, experience, skills, and qualifications.

• Greets warmly and maintains a friendly, welcoming relationship with all patients and clients, including among others, physicians and physician office staff

• Scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.

• Possesses strong telephone skills to answer high volume of patient calls

• Provides patients with an explanation of their benefits and thoroughly answers all questions
• Calls and confirms new patient appointments

• Knowledge of insurance verification (Medicare, Medi-cal, all PPO's, etc)

• Scanning of patient related documents into patients chart

• Entering Patient information into EMR

• Help with checking patients out

• Check patient insurance eligibility and benefits

• Submit prior authorizations for patients' treatment

• Assist with answering patient questions about billing statements and insurance coverage

• Generate insurance claims and submit required documentation

• Assist with resolving rejected claims

• Other office related work, open and close the clinic

• Medical Office Receptionist Skills and Qualifications:

• Multi-tasking, Flexibility, Telephone Skills, Customer Service, Time Management, Organization and Attention to Detail

• Medical Front office experience for at least One year.
• Applicants MUST have a knowledge of Insurance benefits/authorization for PPOs, HMOs, and IPAs.

• Applicants MUST speak English clearly and if you speak a second language that is a plus!

• Applicants MUST have a good knowledge of Excel, Word Document, and have Proficient writing skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
