Position:Medical Receptionist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist! In this role, you will provide exceptional reception and clerical services to patients and visitors under the supervision of the practice manager and physician(s). Your responsibilities will include billing, collections, referrals, appointments, patient contact, general secretarial duties, and potentially floating to different locations within a 30-minute radius.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communication:
- Answer phone calls promptly and courteously, directing them appropriately while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and office policies.
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a welcoming and respectful environment.
- Effectively communicate with team members, patients, and physicians.
- Patient Management:
- Assist patients with the sign-in process, promptly addressing their needs.
- Manage the check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and friendliness.
- Verify demographics, insurance eligibility, and collect payments accordingly.
- Obtain necessary referrals and ensure patients complete required paperwork.
- Enter patient information accurately into the billing system.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain efficient and accurate filing and recordkeeping systems.
- Assemble new patient folders and manage records retrieval according to protocol.
- Support financial responsibilities by understanding reimbursement procedures, verifying audit journal information, preparing bank deposits and credit card batches, and managing cash receipts.
- Monitor office supply inventory and equipment, placing orders as needed.
- Adapt work schedule to meet practice needs, including additional hours or cross-covering when necessary.
Technology:
- Serve as a pre-loader for the EMR system.
- Familiarity with Epic is preferred.

- Must be able to travel within a 30-minute radius of your home and potentially float to various locations.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong commitment to patient satisfaction.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience as a receptionist or in a medical office setting.
- Experience with the Epic EMR system.
