Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments
- Answer phone calls and address patient inquiries or direct them to the appropriate department
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with medical administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical or dental receptionist role is preferred, but not required
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide excellent patient service
- Proficient in using front desk phone systems and computers use for entering information
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology is a plus
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
