Medical Receptionist

Genesis Orthopaedic and Spine, a multi-specialty orthopedic and spine practice in Ridgewood NJ, Westfield, NJ, West Orange, NJ, and Morristown, NJ has an exciting opportunity to join our growing family and is seeking a full time Medical Receptionist. Experience working in an Orthopedic or Sports Medicine office preferred.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Receptionist. The candidate needs to be detailed oriented, a multi-tasker and a team player. The candidate will be checking patients in and out, answering incoming calls, assist with scheduling patients appointments, assisting patients with online registration, connecting our ZocDoc patients and other assigned duties. The successful candidate will be able to ensure an elevated level of customer service, maintain positive relationships within the network and maximize productivity by reviewing accuracy for data processing. The candidate must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment, manage difficult conversations, be thoughtful, resourceful, collaborative, and customer focused.

Job Function:

• Check in/out patients
• Process patient documents
• Assist with phone calls
• Work collaboratively with Medical and Clerical staff
• Collect and post patient’s payments properly
• Assist the practice with scheduling using ZocDoc and other online platforms
• Manage a high volume of Provider and Patient inquiries.
• Obtain proper insurance information, insurance cards, and identification
• Verifying insurance coverage for each patient
• Handling payments for services not covered by insurance
• Obtaining referrals for patients when they are not covered
• Updating patient information/keeping records
• Understand & adhere to all HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality & record keeping

Required Skills:

· Must have great organizational and Interpersonal skills

· Must have superior communication skill

· Multi-tasking in a fast paced environment

· Must be Computer savvy (Excel, Word)

· EMR skills a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
