As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will work directly with staff, providers, patients, and insurance companies to bill and obtain payments for healthcare services rendered. Important responsibilities of the Medical Billing Specialist include using current medical billing procedures to create and submit a medical claim, working directly with patients to create payment plans, coordinating with insurance companies to resolve claims, and resolving denial instances. Essential Job Functions
- Post charges, process claims, resolve denials and post payments and adjustments to patient’s account(s) in EMR
- Ensure billing and coding compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policy and procedures
- Review medical chart notes and encounters for accuracy in CPT, HCPCS, ICD10 coding
- Ensure Charge capture are accurate and submitted in a timely manner
- Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided
- Send statements and resolve patient complaints
- Researches and analyzes data needs for reimbursement
- Analyzes medical records and identifies documentation deficiencies
- Identifies discrepancies, potential quality of care, and billing issues
- Serves as resource and subject matter expert to other coding and billing staff
- Collects patient due balances by printing and/or submitting statements & paper statements
- Checks for accuracy with documentation in the EHR
- Perform all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
■ Certified Biller or Coder (CBCS)
■ One year billing experience working in either a physician’s office or hospital
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
