Chef Ryan here! Bread & Roses is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for being preparing top-quality food in a fast-order, refined kitchen. We are seeking someone with comfortability helping on the line with a focus on light prep/smoothies.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, salads, toasts and sandwiches.
- Follow recipes and menu specifications to ensure consistency in taste and presentation
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Monitor food stock levels and communicate with Chef to restock as needed
- Clean and maintain work areas, utensils, and equipment to ensure a safe and sanitary kitchen environment
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
- Assist in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or similar role in a culinary setting
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and food safety regulations
- A working knowledge of knife skills and ability to handle kitchen equipment effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Flexibility to work weekends, and potentially nights (looking at maybe Fri, Sat, Sun during the summer, depending on staffing levels)
