Mankato Area Public Schools has a position available for a Level 1 IT Technician beginning as soon as possible. This is a full-time, 12-month non-affiliated position.
Job Summary:
The Level 1 IT Technician will provide support to end users on a variety of IT issues. This individual must have a strong customer support orientation, upbeat, and positive personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate must be investigative, curious, and skilled in having conversations with end users to diagnose issues and determine quick resolutions. They must be comfortable with software and hardware, and be able to identify, research, and resolve IT technical problems. The Level 1 IT Technician will respond to IT requests for service and tickets.
Required Qualifications
2 year degree or equivalent work experience
Must have strong customer service, time management, and written/verbal communication skills
Dependable, reliable and predictable attendance is a requirement
Demonstrated organizational skills - Ability to prioritize assigned projects, help desk calls, and tickets
Ability to work effectively with school staff, parents and community members
Ability to troubleshoot a variety of hardware and software issues
Self-motivated, energetic, detail-oriented, and organized
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move computer and A/V equipment
Minnesota Driver's License and reliable mode of transportation to move around to various district buildings
Preferred Qualifications
A+ certification or other technology related certification and/or degree is desired
At least one year of general help desk or related IT experience
Customer service and/or support experience a plus
Experience with helpdesk ticketing tools
Experience in an educational and technology workplace environment is desired
