BAYOU STATE FINANCE INC. is seeking a Legal Secretary to join our team. This position is based out of our New Iberia, LA office. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is organized and has the ability to multitask. The position requires a high level of attention to detail and an ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner. The position is primarily responsible for filing legal documents, answering phones, and working on all legal files as well as collections of these files. Must be a certified Paralegal. The work hrs. are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm M-F with the occasional partial day on Saturday

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field(s) or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a legal office required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
• Knowledge of legal terminology and ability to type at least 40 wpm preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, take ownership, and be flexible and proactive with minimal supervision required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
