SalaryJones Fussell Law Firm is looking for an experienced legal assistant to provide secretarial and administrative support to our team.
Responsibilities
- Set up, manage and maintain legal client and case files
- Clerical tasks including typing, formatting pleadings, filing, and scheduling
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Distribute written/electronic correspondence to handling attorneys
- Manage calendar and schedule hearings, meetings, appointments, teleconferences, depositions, and travel
- Filing documents, including pleadings, with courts and administrative agencies
- Preparing basic pleadings (i.e., discovery templates, etc.)
Required Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent typing skills
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
- Experience with Juris billing a plus, but not required
The ideal candidate is also eager to learn real estate closings from intake through post-closing, including communicating with clients and lenders, drafting legal documents and settlement statements, and issuing title policies.
